Cover Shadow

When winter comes to the Bregenzerwald

With the first snow, a silence settles over the Bregenzerwald and our home resort of Au-Schoppernau. The gently rising southern and the rugged northern slopes of the Diedamskopf get a gentle covering, while the Üntschenspitze proudly shows off its snow crown and the pastures, meadows and forests put on a white cloak. It is the start of a season that brings a beautiful combination for us. We allow our cheeks to be turned red by the cold winter air outside and then enjoy the warm atmosphere in the Hotel Hubertus.

Hubertus as a starting point

In winter, the Hubertus is the place where ski days and cross-country skiing, snowshoe hikes and winter walks begin. The ski bus stops right in front of the hotel and takes you to the cable cars of the Diedamskopf ski area in just a few minutes. Nearby are two other favourites for winter sports enthusiasts - the Mellau-Damüls and Warth-Schröcken ski areas with access to the Arlberg ski area with a total of 300 kilometres of slopes. As a sporty alternative to skiing, the cross-country ski trails in the area are ideal. The well-maintained trails can be accessed directly opposite the Hotel Hubertus.

Winter & wellness

The best way to end a winter’s day is in the wellness area of the Hotel Hubertus. Snoozing wrapped in warm bathrobes in the relaxation room, warming up in the sauna and cooling off in the fresh snow in the garden. Then Hubert Simma might already be calling – or even better – the scent from his kitchen will entice you to his restaurant for a cosy dinner. Just splendid!
